MPI celebrates its Silver Anniversary

January 18,2008

Seymour, CT – On Friday, March 14, 2008 Microboard Processing, Inc. (MPI) will commemorate 25 years of US Manufacturing Excellence, when it celebrates its Silver Anniversary Celebration. The event will be held at MPI’s manufacturing facility located at 4 Progress Avenue, Seymour, Connecticut.

Some brief background on MPI:

Started in 1983 as a small family-owned electronics repair services business, MPI has evolved to become the leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider in Connecticut, and one of the most technically advanced privately held EMS companies in North America.

From its inception, MPI has continuously reinvested in its business, making strategic investments in people, production equipment, and advanced processes such as Lean Manufacturing. These investments have resulted in dramatic efficiency improvements, oftentimes enabling MPI to effectively compete against offshore competitors, and allowing MPI to create highly skilled manufacturing jobs in a region that many electronics manufacturers have given up upon. Craig Hoekenga, MPI’s Founder and CEO comments, "We are proving that by our investments in people and process efficiencies, ‘Made in America’ can be profitable for both us and our customers. In contrast to the recent declines in local manufacturing we see no reason we can’t continue to compete and rapidly grow our manufacturing base here in New England."

Despite the dramatic decline in Electronics Manufacturing in the US over this same time period, MPI has successfully grown their EMS business year after year by focusing on its core values of Integrity, Customer Service, Faith, and Social Responsibility. The electronics manufacturing industry's most demanding customers trust MPI to manufacture their mission-critical electronic assemblies. Our world-class capabilities, unparalleled responsiveness, and rock-solid financial standing enable us to bring our customers’ products to market quickly and cost effectively.

In parallel to its stellar track record of growth, throughout its 25 year history MPI has remained committed to serving its customers, employees, and the less fortunate in the communities in which they operate. As cited in articles published locally and in national forums such as the Wall Street Journal, MPI has a long history of doing well by doing good. We hope you can join our celebration on Friday, March 14th from 12:30 to 3:30PM to see firsthand what 25 years of hard work, investments, and unwavering faith has produced, knowing that the best still lies ahead.
