Inventory SolutionsMPI Alliance Announced
November 8,2007
Seymour, CT Microboard Processing, Inc., and Inventory Solutions, LLC, today jointly announced the formation of a strategic alliance between the two companies. Although they chose not to go public with details of their agreement, representatives of the companies did disclose that MPI will be given preferential pricing on the purchase of components used in electronics manufacturing in exchange for a guaranteed volume of business. Both companies are based in Seymour, Connecticut.
"We're very pleased with the new working relationship we have established with MPI," said Nicole Russo, President of Inventory Solutions. "MPI is focused on market sectors that require the highest quality and most reliable component parts, and we're in the business of providing those same components. It's a win-win, symbiotic relationship," she said.
MPI is a manufacturing services (EMS) company serving the U.S. Defense, Medical, Industrial, Commercial, and Alternative Energy sectors. One of the biggest challenges to remaining competitive in the EMS industry is being able to consistently find reliable sources of high-quality, price-competitive components. Over the past 25 years, MPI has dedicated substantial resources toward improving its purchasing effectiveness domestically and overseas with the hope of reducing costs, thereby making itself more attractive to would-be customers. MPI currently manufactures electronic assemblies in the U.S. and China for more than twenty customers.
Inventory Solutions, founded in 2000 and headed by Russo, has become a respected, product-focused distributor of a complete line of semiconductors, displays, and touch screens, used in a wide range of electronic products. In recent years, Inventory Solutions has established itself as a leader in the electronic display components market, which is presently experiencing exponential growth. Inventory Solutions has also established a niche business successfully fulfilling component quotation and purchasing requirements for one of the largest EMS providers in southern China.
"It's the logical path that MPI and Inventory Solutions would partner up," said MPI's President, Michael Ellis. "The electronics market is moving more and more toward displayseverything comes with a display screen of some sort these days and Inventory Solutions is the best source we've found for those parts."
